Welcome to the bulk food market news update.  The cold weather across the Midwest has provided support for the wheat market due to concerns about crop damage.  Exports have remained strong which is also supporting prices.  The weekly wheat chart below shows support is holding at the $6.35 price level.  The December crop report is due out tomorrow but it usually does not cause the market to move much.  Seasonal lows often occur in December and the January crop report is the first report of the new year that provides meaning data on spring seedlings.

The corn market also appears to be holding support on the monthly chart as seen in the second chart below. The market appears to have absorbed the news of the reduction in ethanol requirements in 2014 as well as China rejecting a shipment of GMO corn from the U.S.   Corn prices tend to slowly grind higher during this time of year until the January crop report.
